Types of Papers

Research Paper

Manuscripts focus on quantitative, qualitative or mixed methods research in the field of Educational Technology with the context of basic education (K-12), higher education or adult learning.

Development

Manuscripts focus on the design, implementation, evaluation and management of learning technologies in the context of basic education (K-12), higher education or adult learning.

Editorial Procedure

Double-blind peer review

This journal follows a double-blind reviewing procedure. Authors are therefore requested to submit a blinded manuscript without any author names and affiliations in the text, references, or on the title page. Self-identifying citations and references in the article text should either be avoided or left blank.

Manuscript Submission

Manuscript Submission

Submission of a manuscript implies: that the work described has not been published before; that it is not under consideration for publication anywhere else; that its publication has been approved by all co-authors, if any, as well as by the responsible authorities – tacitly or explicitly – at the institute where the work has been carried out. The publisher will not be held legally responsible should there be any claims for compensation.

Permissions
Authors wishing to include figures, tables, or text passages that have already been published elsewhere are required to obtain permission from the copyright owner(s) for both the print and online format and to include evidence that such permission has been granted when submitting their papers. Any material received without such evidence will be assumed to originate from the authors.

Online Submission

Authors should submit their manuscripts to the journal’s online manuscript-submission and peer-review from OJS System. Authors may access this website directly or may visit the journal homepage (https://journal.teknologipendidikan.or.id/index.php/jetsar) and click on “Submission.” Electronic submission substantially reduces the editorial processing and reviewing times and shortens overall publication times.

Title Page

The title of the paper that concise and informative for the readers.

Abstract

Please provide an abstract 150 to 250 of words. The abstract should not contain any undefined abbreviations or unspecified references.

Keywords

Please provide 4 to 6 keywords which can be used for indexing purposes.

Manuscript Content

  • The total number of words in the article is 4000 - 6000 words including the list of references cited.

Introduction

The introduction should contain (in order) a general background, a review of previous literature (state of the art) as the basis for the scientific novelty statement of the article, a statement of scientific novelty, and a research problem or hypothesis. Present the article in a narrative manner and avoid bullets and numbering throughout the article. It contains backgrounds of the problem, depiction, and further scrutiny of the problem or the gap between what is idealized and reality, supported by relevant theories, recent research, and the study's objective. The problem should offer a new research value or benefit as an innovative endeavor.

At the end of the introduction, the purpose of the article should be stated. The scientific article format does not allow for a literature review as in a research report, but is realised in the form of a review of previous literature (state of the art) to demonstrate the scientific novelty of the article. The word count is not less than 750 and not more than 1000 words.

Method

The method section contains research design, research subjects, instruments, data collection procedures, and data analysis presented in paragraph form. Write out briefly, concisely, clearly, and adequately so it can be replicated. This section explains the research approach, study subjects, conduct of the research procedure, use of materials and instruments, data collection, and analysis techniques. These are not theories. Generally known formulas should not be written down for statistical use. Any specific criteria used by the researcher in collecting and analyzing the research data should be thoroughly described, including the quality of the instruments, the research material, and the data collection procedure. This section should be written about 10% (for qualitative research) or 15% (for quantitative research) of the body. The number of words in the Methods section is no more than 650 words.

Formulas that are not intended to be derived and are standard formulas for statistical analysis do not need to be presented (e.g. percentage, mean, median, mode, etc.). If you want to present the formula applied to a calculation or table that is very specific/specialised, it is sufficient to cite the reference only.

Results & Discussion

For ease of reading and comprehension, findings are presented first, followed by discussion. It should provide a concise and precise description of the experimental results, the interpretation, and the conclusions that can be drawn.

Results

The results section contains research findings obtained from research data and is related to the hypothesis or problem formulation. The results of data analyses can be presented in tables, graphs, figures, or any combination of the three. Tables, graphs, or figures should not be too long, too large, or too many. The writer is advised to use decent variation in presenting tables, graphs, or verbal descriptions. All displayed tables and graphs should be referred to in the text. The number of words in this section is no more than 900 words.

Discussion

The research discussion section contains a discussion of the research results and comparisons with theory and or similar research that has been done before. The author should discuss the results and how they can be interpreted from the perspective of previous studies and the working hypotheses. The findings and their implications should be discussed in the broadest context possible. Future research directions may also be highlighted. The number of words in the discussion section is more than 1000 words.

Conclusion

The conclusion section answers the hypothesis, research objectives and research findings as well as suggestions regarding further ideas from the research. The conclusion should be linked to the title and objectives of the study. Do not make statements that are not adequately supported by your findings. Do not create further discussion, repeat the abstract, or simply list the results of the research. Do not use bullet points, use continuous narrative sentences. Conclusions are presented in the form of one paragraph.

Biography

Please supply a short biography including institutional affiliation (1-2 sentences) for each author of the manuscript.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.

Research Section

The Research Section specifically welcomes qualitative, quantitative and mixed-methods studies that examine the application of theory, technology, design within the educational environment. The context of the area ranges from basic education (K-12), higher education to adult learning (e.g. professional and vocational training). Manuscripts that address trends and issues, literature reviews are also included in this section. This section publishes well-written articles that highlight research aspects, the application of theory in learning practices and provide a comprehensive source of research in the field of Educational Technology.

Research & Development (RnD) Section

The Development Section publishes research on the design, implementation, evaluation and management of various learning technologies and learning environments. Empirical evidence-based technology evaluations, as well as the results of trials of innovative technologies for learning are welcome in the Development section. The research or study should address the impact, implications, future plans and empirical evidence that relates the results to the conclusions on the technology that has been developed.
